The BMW Neue Klasse X will feature a minimal design philosophy, a minimalist interior, and an advanced electric powertrain. The SUV will be comparable in size to the BMW X3 and will feature a pioneering design with its illuminated iconic kidney grille and single-piece lighting element.
BMW’s Neue Klasse philosophy aims to pioneer a new class in terms of design and performance. The exterior design of the Neue Klasse X resembles the current silhouettes of BMW SUVs, yet distinguishes itself with its new grille design and LED daytime running lights.

The interior is marked by a red and white color combination. The in-car experience is enhanced with the new-generation iDrive system and a ‘Panoramic Vision’ head-up display. Instead of the traditional rotary iDrive controller and other physical controls, all main functions will be housed in the central touchscreen system.
BMW aims to elevate electric vehicle performance to a new level by improving range and charging times with new battery cells. Neue Klasse models will use 4695- and 46120-format cylindrical cells instead of the prismatic cells used so far by BMW.
These will offer 20% higher energy density and increase the vehicles’ range by 30%. Charging times for Neue Klasse vehicles will also be 30% faster. BMW announced that by 2027, it will launch six Neue Klasse models in sedan and SUV body styles.
These new models are expected to represent innovations in the electric vehicle sector and BMW’s vision for sustainable transportation. This new concept provides significant insights into how BMW will position itself in the electric vehicle sector and the advantages that innovations in the automotive industry will offer consumers.
